What does an artist do during lockdown? Hopefully; create more art. We’re all in need of art right now; be it in the form of books, music or movies, but art can be therapeutic too. I know I need some creative outlet at the best of times; sitting at home means that even more distraction is required!
I’ve been creating more glass. Here’s a new technique; well, it’s a variation of existing techniques, but I like the way it has come out. These are a base layer of sheet glass, with a top layer of the lacy glass.

Here’s some new instances of my existing and popular screen printed designs. These are made with frit rather than sheet glass which lends itself to more exciting colors and reactions, especially between the green and blue.

I’ve made some new T-shirt designs – airliners, this time. You can buy these on my Etsy shop.

There will be more forthcoming. (If you have a favorite aircraft I have not drawn yet, let me know!)
I’ve been messing with learning more about Celtic knots, and using my paper cutting machine as a pen plotter, for the heck of it. Expect these influences to show up in my glass designs in due course.

I hope your lockdown experience is going as well as it can. Stay healthy, and I hope to be able to share these new designs with you in person at a market soon.
