Clocks

Mid-Century styles are my main influence in clock design. Everything below is available on my Clocks page on Etsy.

Bubble Clock

Here’s a look at my Bubble Clock, which is available with your choice of colors. It is made of three layers of acrylic. I paint the hands; usually blue, but I’ll do other colors on request, or if it suits the look of the clock. This has a battery powered motor on the back with a hanger, so you can wall mount it.

Starburst Clock

This one is made of acrylic, with black spikes and sparkly blue/silver accents.

Boomerang Clock

This is an MCM-inspired desk clock. It has colorful sides made from custom-printed MDF ply, and the surround is made from Walnut plywood which is cut to make it flexible, so it can bend into the curves of this clock. The clock face and back plate are engraved acrylic. The back plate is removable with a bayonet fitting, so you can change the battery.

Pod Clock

Another MCM-inspired desk clock. This has a 3D-printed shell, with laser engraved clock faces in either Walnut or Cedar, inlaid with numbers made from Birch. The hands are custom-cut into unique shapes.

Atomic LED Clock

Go bold and bright! It’s made of two layers of acrylic. The middle is a printed acrylic engraved to show the underlying color. Currently there’s a choice of red/orange or blue/red. It hides the battery powered motor behind, and glows with the light when it’s switched on. The numbers are painted on the front of the illuminated piece. Then I flip it and engrave the back, and it’s this engraving that lights up from the supplied wood/LED base. This can be set to one of seven colors, or three rotating color modes.

Windmill Clock

A bit of a departure from MCM, but heavily influenced by the Texas countryside in which I live. Here is a clock made to resemble a Texas water pump windmill, of which we have so many around here. It uses 3D-printed parts and acrylic.

Wooden Clock

And lastly (for now), a three-layered wooden clock. The back layer is a blue-stained Baltic Birch, and it has Walnut on top for contrast. I like making layered designs; I’ll be revisiting this again.
